Team captain Cora Campbell of Calgary leads a talented Canadian squad at the Olympics as women's water polo finally makes its Games' debut. Campbell, who plays centre, was developed by Montréal's CAMO club but now lives in Calgary where she studies management at the University of Calgary. She was named to the world all star team by USA Water Polo in 1999 and named the world's best player by World Water Polo magazine. She made her national senior team debut in 1992 as Canada placed second at the Sicily Cup. She has played at all the major tournaments since then including a fifth place finish at the world championships in 1994. She was also professional player in Italy and the Netherlands from 1994 to 1998 and is a national all star since 1989. Her sister Kimberley Campbell is also a senior national team member.

Sept. 22: Canada def. Kazakhstan 9-8 in overtime to finish fifth in standings.
Sept. 20: Canada lost 7-4 to Australia, dropping to 1-2-2 in round-robin play.
Sept. 19: Women: Canada lost 7-4 to the Netherlands, dropping to 1-1-2 in round-robin play.
Sept. 18: Canada def. Kazakhstan 10-3 in round-robin play for one win and two ties in three games. Sept. 17: Canada tied U.S. 8-8 in second preliminary game.
