Henry Hering makes a third career appearance at the Olympic Games. He
competed in pairs at the Barcelona Games and was ninth. In 1996, he placed
fourth with the men's eights. Now the five-time world championship team
member, returns in pairs with longtime partner Phil Graham.
It appeared initially that Hering and Graham wouldn't race together at the
Games. Graham injured his ribs and was off the water for a month. He
returned in early August and showed no signs of the injury in preparatory
races with Hering.
