Conrad Leinemann enjoyed considerable success as an indoor player before he
switched to beach volleyball and hooked up with
Jody Holden. Leinemann was
UBC's athlete of the year in 1994 where he graduated in human kinetics. He
also played one season indoor as a professional in France.
The pair reached new heights at the Pan Am Games where they were seeded
fifth but defeated a powerful field including the number-one seeded
Brazilians to win the gold medal. The victory before a raucous home crowd
easily made-up for the couple of missed paychecks on the pro tour.
Off the sand, Leinemann is a part-time model for Elite and recently did a
shoot for them in Italy. The pair often host clinics for young players at
domestic events across the country and make frequent appearances at schools
and youth programs.
