It's been a quiet four years for Christin Petelski since she made the
Olympic final in the women's 200 breaststroke at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
After those Games, she slipped on the pool deck, injured her left knee and
underwent surgery to repair ligament damage. Last year she didn't make
either the 1999 Pan Am Games or Pan Pacific teams.
"I wanted to quit in September," she said. "I thought I had enough, I
wasn't progressing. But I just made a decision this year to be tough on
myself and go for it."
