At 24, Chris Renaud has a swimming career many would envy. It includes setting a world record in the short course 50 backstroke in 1997, 15 national titles and now he is headed to his second Olympic Games in Sydney.

  He was the first Canadian to break the two minute barrier in the 200 backstroke clocking 1:59.81 at the national championships in 1996 held just after the 1996 Olympics. However he temporarily retired in 1997 to re-examine his career options. He cameback in 1998 and competed at the Commonwealth Games.

  His father Raymond Renaud played hockey for the Montreal Junior Canadiens in 1967.
