McMullen-Temple, St. John will compete

OTTAWA (CP) -- The Canadian Equestrian Federation on Monday named Kelli McMullen-Temple of Toronto and Wyndham St. John of Vancouver as Canada's representatives at the Olympic Games in the individual three-day event.

Bruce Mandeville of Guelph, Ont., was selected as an alternate.

In three-day events, the riders compete in dressage, cross country and jumping.

McMullen-Temple, 39, lives in Chicago. She and her 12-year-old Irish thoroughbred Kilkenny competed in the 1996 Olympics.

St. John, 41, currently trains in England. She will compete with her 11-year-old thoroughbred gelding, Oliver, at the Games in Sydney in September.
