SYDNEY (AP) -- An official with Nepal's Olympic team suffered whiplash when the car he was riding in collided with a bus near Olympic Park.

 The official, whose identified was not released, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital after the collision at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, a team statement said.

 The team said the official remained under observation and is to be released Tuesday. It gave no further details.

 Australian television said the official was riding in a courtesy car for VIPs, which collided with a bus operated by the Olympic transportation network. The report described him as a senior team official.

 TV films showed the damaged bus and car, and an ambulance at the scene of the crash on a highway near the Olympic complex.

 It was the second crash in a week involving Olympics transportation. The American manager of the marching band that performed in the opening ceremony was seriously injured last week in another car-bus crash.
