SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Public transport rail employees threatened to walk off the job and have not ruled out disrupting the Sydney Games if the state government fails to approve an Olympic pay allowance.

 Government officials are expected to meet Friday with key union groups to finalize an allowance of 90 cents an hour for 8,000 public sector workers. However the government has yet to respond to a separate claim by public transport workers, including train drivers and station staff.

 Nick Lewocki, state secretary of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU), said he would meet with officials from New South Wales state Premier Bob Carr's office on Friday to discuss the claim.

 "I've tried to explain to government that the quicker we can wrap this Olympic claim up in a sensible way, we can get on with the task of training our people in customer service, customer relations and how we're going to deal with the influx of foreign visitors," said Lewocki.

 "But while this keeps up, our guys have got low morale."
