Aborigines granted permission to protest
SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Aboriginal activists have been granted permission to protest outside the Sydney Airport in the days leading up to the Olympic Games.
Protest organizer Jenny Munro said the protests, permitted Sept. 10-14, will highlight "government misinformation" about the treatment of Aborigines in Australia.
Munro said the protesters would form a human chain on the streets near the airport and be visible to those arriving for the Sydney Games.
"What we are trying to do is provide them with another version of events," rather than the government's version of history, Munro said.
