Located in Woolloongabba, a suburb of Brisbane, the Brisbane Cricket Ground will host soccer matches, the only sport to make use of facilities outside of Sydney.
The stadium, which seats 37,500 spectators, is the home of the Queensland Bulls cricket squad and Australian Rules football's Brisbane Lions.
Come September, the cricket pitch will play host to the biggest football tournament that Brisbane has ever hosted. Brisbane will host six preliminary matches and a quarterfinal match.
The spectator areas of the ground have been renovated since 1993 with new bleachers, grandstands, lighting and an electronic scoreboard.
