Hedican is considered one of the fastest skaters in the NHL. Was the Canucks' third most productive defender in points in 1997-98 behind rookie Mattias Ohlund, and led the league with seven shorthanded assists.
With his cool confidence and calm demeanor, the two-way defenceman has built himself a reputation as one of the most reliable blueliners in the league.
A St. Paul, Minnesota native, he joined the Canucks during the 1993-94 season along with defencemen Jeff Brown and Nathan LaFayette in a trade with St. Louis for Craig Janney. He signed with the Blues in March 1992 (who drafted him in 1988) after playing for the U.S. national team and Team USA at the 1992 Winter Olympics at Albertville, France.
