Fantasy Recap: Apr. 14

By CHRIS NICHOLS -- SLAM! Sports

 Ottawa 4 Toronto 1 (Series tied 2-2)

With Joe Nieuwendyk out of the lineup, the Leafs top few lines were Sundin centering Roberts and Tucker and Francis between Kilger and Mogilny... Ed Belfour stoned Marian Hossa on a breakaway in the first period, but Daniel Alfredsson delivered on his promise to break Belfour's shutout streak shortly after that... Hossa got his own goal (Third in four games) later on in the game... Todd White's goal was his first point of the series... Mats Sundin's injury, if serious, could obviously seriously hurt the chances of the Leafs. If Nieuwy and Sundin are gone for a few games, watch out... Nik Antropov took another couple of minors and now has 12 PIM's in the series.

Philadelphia 3 New Jersey 0 (Philadelphia leads series 3-1)

Simon Gagne had a chance to put the game away early in the third period. He was alone in front of the net with Brodeur going the other way, but Gagne's stick got caught on the post and the puck slid across the outside of the goal line... Kim Johnsson had two points in the game and has six points in the series, a dramatic contrast to his three points in 18 playoff games coming into the Devils match-up... Primeau centered LeClair and Recchi in this game; Handzus got shifted to a line with Gagne and Kapanen... Kapanen came through with two assists in this game, giving him three points overall... How huge has Alex Zhamnov been for the Flyers since the trade? His goal Wednesday gives him six points in the series and his impact has been tremendous... J.R. picked up his sixth point of the series and his playoff stud reputation remains in tact. Nobody could say Martin Brodeur is the reason the Flyers are in this deep hole (Credit Esche and the Flyers ability to stifle most of Jersey's offense), but where is "Playoff Brodeur"?

Tampa Bay 3 New York 0 (Tampa leads series 3-1)

Guess what the score of this game was? It's been the same throughout the series, regardless of which team has won the game... Nik Khabibulin is on his game (Three shutouts in four games) and that, combined with the deadly Tampa offense, could spell a deep playoff run... Martin St. Louis didn't register a point in this series until the third game, but he now has 3G, 1A in his past two games... Fred Modin has points in three of the four games and has five points in all... Brad Richards was scoreless in his first two games, but has five points in his past two games... When your team has been shutout in three straight games, pretty much everyone is to blame for not scoring.

 Colorado 3 Dallas 2 2OT (Colorado leads series 3-1)

Joe Sakic's SHG in the first period was his third goal and fifth point in this series and the man just keeps on keeping on the playoffs... Peter Forsberg (Two points in this game; six in the series) not only has a point in every game of this series, but has a consecutive point streak of ten playoff games going... Marek Svatos (OT GWG) - I've said it before and I'll say it again - remember this kid in the later rounds of your draft next season, because he's going to be a great sleeper pick... Rob Blake's assist brings his series total to five points and 63 points in 111 career games... Milan Hejduk's fourth point of the series is just another reason why Colorado has been too much for Dallas so far... Mike Modano has two points in the series and was held scoreless in this game... Bill Guerin had an assist and eleven shots, but still has not scored against Colorado... Jere Lehtinen has no points in the series.

Is Tiger Woods a great pick for the U.S. Ryder Cup team?
  Yes, he's a veteran
  No, he's struggling
  Either way, U.S. will lose
