Fantasy Recap: Apr. 25

By CHRIS NICHOLS -- SLAM! Sports
Tampa Bay 3 Montreal 1 (Tampa leads series 2-0)

Nik Khabibulin has allowed but five goals in the playoffs thus far and is playing as well as he has at any point in his career... Jamie Langenbrunner - er, Fred Modin, got another point Sunday afternoon and now has nine points as the Lightning roll along... Vinnie Lecavalier has owned the Habs this round, scoring another two goals and bringing his series total to 4G, 1A after failing to register a point in the first round... After coming up blank in the first two games of the against the Isles, Martin St. Louis has been in the scoring summary for five straight games (4G, 5A)... Brad Richards picked up his first point of the series and now has 1G, 5A in the post-season... Saku Koivu is having a great post-season with 3G, 8A after only 55 points in 68 regular season games... Alex Kovalev will be remembered for his lack of toughness on his wrist slash in overtime during the Boston series, but he's been incredibly productive in the playoffs (5G, 4A in 9GP after a horrible regular season)... Sheldon Souray has not been the same player offensively since coming back from his injury late in the season and has a mere two assist in the '04 playoffs. He still led the Habs in ice time Sunday though... Michael Ryder found the net 25 times as a rookie this year, but has no goals and two assists since the regular season ended.

Philadelphia 2 Toronto 1 (Philadelphia leads series 2-0)

Philly scored first in this game AGAIN, as they have done in every single game in the post-season... Robert Esche came up with his sixth win in seven starts and his stock for next season is rising dramatically in fantasy leagues across the land... Mats Sundin made his return to the lineup, but came away with no points despite getting three shots on net... Alex Zhamnov is a completely different player in a Philly jersey compared with his Chicago days and he netted his 4th goal and 10th point Sunday... Donald Brashear's goal was his first point of the playoffs, but these goals from grinders lead to championships... Keith Primeau's assist was already his fourth point of the post-season... Tony Amonte has a three-game point streak going with five points in seven games total... Brian Leetch has drawn an assist in his past four games... Alex Mogilny has two lone points in the post-season... Gary Roberts has gone five straight games without a goal... Darcy Tucker has failed to find the score sheet so far.

In addition to analyzing fantasy hockey for us, Chris also writes a weekly column for ESPN's fantasy hockey section during the regular season and periodically during the rest of the year. He can also be found at Mckeenshockey.com, where his News & Notes section is featured seven days a week through the end of the playoffs.
