Fantasy Recap: May 8

By CHRIS NICHOLS -- SLAM! Sports

Tampa Bay 3 Philadelphia 1 (Tampa leads series 1-0)

Tampa won its eighth straight game of the post-season, having only lost the second game of the series with the Islanders... Nik Khabibulin (Four shutouts, three games with only one goal allowed in each) has the early bead on the Conn Smythe Trophy from the Lightning side of things if Tampa gets to the Finals... Brad Richards has a four-game point streak going with an even 5G, 5A overall... Cory Stillman is having an average playoff point-wise (Two assists here with four points total) after lighting it up in the regular season, but the team has so many offensive weapons it hasn't missed a beat... Dan Boyle has one point in his last four games... Vinnie Lecavalier had his four-game point streak stopped and has only scored points against Montreal in the playoffs... Fred Modin continues to "Langenbrunner" the opposition in these playoffs and his two-assist game brings his stats to 5G, 8A in only 10GP... Dave Andreychuk's goal Saturday was only his first of the playoffs, but he continues to be the straw that stirs this Tampa drink... Michal Handzus stretched his point streak to three games with his goal... Tony Amonte has now gone four games without a point after having six points in the seven games before that... Kim Johnsson only has one point in his last five after scoring points in his first four games... Vlad Malakhov was held without a point against Toronto, but had an assist in this game against Tampa... Jeremy Roenick has but two points in his past six games, but they were both key goals in that Game Six win over the Leafs... Alex Zhamnov has been held to one point in the past four games after jumping out to 4G, 7A in his first 8GP.

In addition to analyzing fantasy hockey for us, Chris also writes a weekly column for ESPN's fantasy hockey section during the regular season and periodically during the rest of the year. He can also be found at Mckeenshockey.com, where his News & Notes section is featured seven days a week through the end of the playoffs.
