    British call for knighthood for Lewis

     LONDON (CP) -- The man who won boxing gold for Canada at the 1988 Olympics was hailed as "Britain's Goliath in the ring" and "the pride of Britain" on Monday.
     Lennox Lewis's defeat of American Evander Holyfield to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion filled Britain's sports pages with streams of patriotic phrases, despite debate over performance and the ensuing controversy over the withheld International Boxing Federation's belt.

    Holyfield at peace after loss to Lewis

     ATLANTA (AP) -- Evander Holyfield was surprised to come out of his title fight against Lennox Lewis with few scratches and bruises but no heavyweight championship.
     Still, the Atlanta fighter says he is at peace.
     "The main reason I'm at peace with myself is that I fought a complete fight and a smart fight, and I put on a good performance for myself," Holyfield told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in assessing his loss to Lewis. "I had to re-evaluate what I was doing.
