    Norwegian wins 5K event, extends World Cup lead

     RAMSAU, Austria (AP) -- Bente Martinsen of Norway beat her chief Russian rival Larissa Lazutina in a women's five-kilometre cross-country race Friday and extended her World Cup lead.
     Martinsen, who finished second Thursday in a 10K race, was in eighth after 1.5 kilometres. But she stepped up her pace and caught up with Lazutina, beating the Russian by 1.5 seconds at the finish line of the classical-style race.
     Martinsen, who is seeking her first World Cup season title, now leads Lazutina by 82 points (491-413) after eight races.
     The Norwegian posted a time of 12 minutes, 54.4 seconds to capture her third victory of the season.
