Cherry tackles Quebec

 NAGANO, Japan (CP) -- Don Cherry finished the Olympics the same way he started them -- with a rant.
 The CBC-TV commentator, during Coach's Corner in the Czech-Russia hockey final today, targeted his tongue on Quebec in the wake of comments by a Bloc Quebecois MP that there were too many Canadian flags at various Olympic sites.
 "It's a funny thing they don't want the Canadian flag but they want our money," Cherry said.
 "I've never seen such a bunch of whiners in my life," he added.
 Cherry also cited the fuss over a pre-Games Canadian team gathering that was criticized by being largely unilingual and the flap caused by Quebec freestyle skier Jean-Luc Brassard's comment that he regretted carrying the Maple Leaf at the opening ceremonies because it affected his competition.
 Cherry called Brassard, the defending world and 1994 Olympic champion, "a French guy, some skier nobody knows about."
 Sidekick Ron MacLean interjected, trying to detail Brassard's accomplishments but Cherry was on a roll.
 "These people are whiners. If they want to leave, why don't they leave."
 Cherry opened his Olympic campaign with an anti-drug tirade, inspired by the case of Canadian snowboarder Ross Rebagliati.
 Still, Cherry praised his Japanese hosts and said he enjoyed his Olympic experience.
 "I didn't think I would enjoy myself at all and I did enjoy myself."
