    Netherlands shuts out USA 2-0

MIAMI (AP) -- The United States, still glowing over its upset of Brazil in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, got shown what a top team can do at full strength, losing to the Netherlands 2-0 Saturday.
Ronald de Boer scored on a deflection off Alexi Lalas two minutes into the game after a bad pass by Roy Wegerle set up a breakaway, and Clarence Seedorf scored 30 seconds into the second half after Philip Cocu's through ball beat the defense. Seedorf easily beat goalkeeper Kasey Keller 1-on-1.
The United States, preparing for World Cup games against Germany, Iran and Yugoslavia in June, beat Brazil for the first time ever on Feb. 10, but the World Cup champions were missing half their regular starters.
In contrast, the Dutch were nearly at full strength for Saturday's exhibition game, missing only forward Dennis Bergkamp for their first game against the United States.
The best chances for the United States came in the 33rd minute, just after Joe-Max Moore and Jaap Stam were given yellow cards because on an altercation.
Moore's point-blank shot from the center of the penalty area was stopped by goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar with a spectacular toe save. Lalas pounced on the rebound, but his header was swatted out by a lunging van der Sar.
Cobi Jones had a good chance in the 72nd minute but was stopped by van der Sar.
U.S. coach Steve Sampson shook up his lineup a little, starting Jovan Kirovski and Preki Radosavljevic up front and replacing them with Eric Wynalda and Roy Lassiter in the 63rd minute. Jones replaced Wegerle at the start of the second half.
