    Nigeria names World Cup squad

     LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) -- Nigeria has released its official team list for the upcoming World Cup, including a current and a former African Footballer of the Year.
     Nwankwo Kanu, the Nigerian Olympic hero and former African Footballer of the Year who seems to have fully recovered from 1996 heart surgery is among those named to the team, along with Victor Ipkeba, the current African Footballer of the Year.
     Kanu plays for mighty Italian club Inter Milan, recent winner of the UEFA Cup, and Ikpeba is with Monaco, which reached the semifinal of the European Champions' Cup.
     Ike Shorunmi, a goalkeeper who is currently in hospital with a serious shoulder injury, was also on the list. It was not immediately clear when he would be released.
     The other goalkeepers are Willy Opara and Unche Azubike.
     The other players are: Taribo West, Uche Okochukwu, Mobi Okparaku, Godwin Opara, Celestine Babayero, Uche Okafor, Garba Lawal, Tijani Babangida, Augustine Okocha, Sunday Oliseh, Motiu Adepoju, Daniel Amokachi, Finidi George, Wilson Oruma, Rashidi Yekini, Jero Shakpore, Kinsgsley Obieku, Karibe Ojigwe.
