Brits kick off campaign
LONDON (AP) -- England's 10-million pound ($24-million Cdn) campaign to host the 2006 World Cup has begun.The first advertisement, to appear in 10 British and international sports publications, features a baby wearing soccer shoes under a headline, The Birthplace of Football. There's Nowhere Better for 2006.
England is locked in a fierce battle with Germany to become the European bidder. South Africa, however, is already believed to be the leading candidate to host the 2006 event.
